Information You Submit
A name, location, or other term entered in an embedded search tool passes to the third-party company that operates that tool. We do not store or log those search terms on our own systems.
If you send an email or contact message, we retain its contents and contact details as needed to respond. We do not disclose that correspondence outside the organization unless law requires it.
Automatic Technical Data
Routine web logs and measurement tools can collect technical information when a page loads, including:
- Your Internet Protocol address.
- Browser type and version.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and time spent on them.
- The referring site, when supplied.
- Date and time records.
Cookies help measure how visitors use the pages. You may block cookies in your browser, though parts of the site may then work differently.
How Data Is Used
Collected information supports the site's operation and upkeep. We may use it to:
- Keep pages available and responsive.
- Pass a search request to the selected partner.
- Learn which pages visitors find useful.
- Diagnose and repair technical faults.

Websites Beyond Our Control
Links lead to McLean County release-record resources, Sheriff and corrections pages, public portals, and outside search tools. Once you follow a link, the destination's privacy terms control its collection and use of information.
Some advertising providers may measure activity across websites to select ads. That processing occurs on their systems, not ours.
When Data Is Shared
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:
- Search partners that process submitted queries.
- Analytics providers that measure site use.
- Advertising networks that deliver ads.
- Law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order.
Security Is Best Effort
We use ordinary safeguards intended to protect information. No internet service, transmission method, or connected storage system can be promised as completely secure or immune from a breach.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Contacts page to request deletion.
Your Data Choices
Subject to applicable law and the information we actually hold, you may ask to:
- Receive a copy of your stored personal data.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Delete personal information.
- Opt out of certain processing.
